YouTube changes content monetization requirements, making money just got easier

Bisnis.com, SOLO – video platforms Youtube change monetization method content making it easier for creators to earn.

Previously, YouTube channels had to have 1,000 subscribers to be monetized. But now the rule has been reduced to just 500 subscribers.

Other changes can also be seen in the length of the video which was previously 4000-3000 hours to monetize.

YouTube is making some pretty big changes to the Shorts feature. Now, short videos that reach 3 million can be monetized, compared to the previous one, they had to reach 10 million.

YouTube’s new policy doesn’t seem to have too much of an effect for accounts that are already large and have many subscribers.

However, this change is especially felt by novice YouTubers who are still crawling to collect subscribers and views.

According to Gizchina, this strategy is used by YouTube to attract new content creators. Apart from that, it is also about beating its competitor i.e. TikTok.

The popularity of TikTok prompted content creators who previously uploaded videos to YouTube to decide to switch platforms.

Unfortunately, this new method will first apply to content creators in the United States (US), United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea.

There is no information yet on when Indonesian YouTubers can get this change in monetization requirements.

What is clear, YouTube said it would bring this change to its users around the world.
