A bonded warehouse is a bonded storage location intended for the storage of imported goods.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA β The Jakarta Regional Customs and Excise Office (Kanwil) granted a bonded warehouse permit to PT Pungkook Indonesia, Tuesday (10/17/2023). PT Pungkook Indonesia is a company that produces handbags, suitcases, travel bag, and a sports bag. This company often exports its products to various countries, such as America, Germany, Canada, France, Japan, Spain, Mexico, Italy and the Netherlands.
βThe provision of this facility constitutes an implementation of the duties and functions of Customs and Excise, namely trade facilitator And industrial aid,” said Head of the Jakarta Regional Customs and Excise Office Rusman Hadi. Symbolically, Rusman handed over the bonded warehouse permit to the representative of PT Pungkook Indonesia directors, Park Soon Tae, just an hour after the company presented the business process.
Rusman explained that a bonded warehouse is a bonded storage location for the storage of imported goods and other activities, such as packing/repackaging, sorting, combining, packaging, placing or the cutting of certain goods. These activities are carried out within a certain time frame and are intended to be republished.
In addition to enjoying import duty deferral, beneficiaries of customs warehouses also enjoy easy licensing services, easy operational activity services and other customs and excise conveniences. To control the use of this system, customs and excise can carry out customs controls selectively, on the basis of risk management, while guaranteeing the smooth movement of goods.
Rusman hopes that this bonded warehouse can reduce the company’s logistics costs and open up employment opportunities for the surrounding community. “We urge companies that have obtained a facility permit to operate it in accordance with current regulations, so that this facility not only brings benefits to the company, but also has an impact on improving the national economy,β Rusman said.
