Duh, it turns out that spare parts for drones made in Iran are supplied by the United States and Western countries

Thirteen different American companies supply Iranian-made drone parts.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, kyiv — Ukrainian intelligence reports have revealed that spare parts found in Iranian drones or drones were manufactured by the United States (US) and the West. Forty of the 52 components Ukraine recovered from the Iranian-made Shahed-136 drone appear to have been made by 13 different American companies.

Al Arabiya reported, Thursday (01/05/2023), no less than 12 other components were produced by companies in Canada, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan and China. Early reports suggest the United States is continuing its efforts to stop companies from selling technology to Iran and identify third-party distributors who may resell it illegally. In December, the US government set up a task force to investigate how American and Western technology, from small equipment such as semiconductors and GPS modules to large parts such as motors, has been used. in Iranian drones.

“We are working to target Iranian drone production through sanctions, export controls and discussions with private companies whose components were used in production. We are evaluating what additional measures we can take in terms of export controls to limit Iran’s access to technology used in drones,” National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson told CNN.

Ukrainian intelligence reports indicate that sanctions alone are not enough to prevent Iran from acquiring Western technology to build its drones. There needs to be more monitoring of how and where these coins come from to stop their distribution.
