Rahmat added that as a great nation, Indonesia has a knighthood identity and a sense of shame over this tragedy. Therefore, he called on all parties who were negligent and culpable in the deadly riots to resign immediately as a moral responsibility.

“It is better that those who have brought grief and shame to our nation step down immediately,” he said.

The Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy in Malang is known to have killed 131 people. The deadly event with such a great loss of life that happened on Saturday night was the biggest event in Indonesian football history and the second biggest in the history of world sport.
