JAKARTA – Commission I of the DPR held a working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs ( Minister of Foreign Affairs ) Retno Marsudi. During the meeting, Retno received many questions from members of House of Representatives Committee I regarding the results of President Joko Widodo’s visit ( Jokowi ) to Ukraine, Russia, some G7 countries in Europe, Japan, South Korea (South Korea) and China.

Nurul Arifin, a member of the DPR I Commission, revealed that the DPR I Commission never received an explanation regarding the results of President Jokowi’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. “In fact, the visit of Madam President to Germany, then to Russia and Ukraine, what was the result? What we never got an explanation for, we only read in the media what we got it,” Nurul said at the DPR Commission I Meeting Room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Thursday (1/9/2022).

“Because Ukraine itself is disappointed with Indonesia, which is considered inconsistent. And Mother also called the Ukrainian Embassy about it, I think what I read is that is that madam. Then she considered that Indonesia has double standards in its relations with Israel and Gaza. Strip with the Ukrainian situation. Now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has transmitted and summoned the Ukrainian ambassador and I want to know how things are going?” he continued.

Party politician Golkar also questioned the results of President Jokowi’s visits to China, South Korea and Japan. “Well, again Madam, maybe what is not conveyed in the media, maybe we can find out what the benefits are for Indonesia, then there can also be new investments or new political developments. We just want to update,” Nourul said.

Then, DPR Commission I member of the PDIP faction Idham Samawi also asked the Foreign Minister to tell the results of President Jokowi’s meeting to Ukraine and Russia. “I want to say that the young generation of future leaders of this nation understands that the president realizes the ideals of the fourth proclamation of independence, participating in the realization of a world order based on freedom, eternal peace and social justice .our ideals are independent,” he said at the same time.

Meanwhile, Effendi Simbolon, a member of DPR Commission I from the PDIP faction, enjoyed President Jokowi’s meeting with Zelensky and Putin. According to him, it was an extraordinary thing, especially when he learned that Jokowi had started the visit thanks to a favorable atmosphere during the G7 summit, as all countries except Canada supported the visit.

“Actually, they want what I heard to get a direct report from Pak Jokowi on the outcome of the meeting with Ukraine and Russia. So what does it look like, ma’am, because it’s also necessary for our responsibility, yes, what he has done and it is bearing fruit, one of which I noted is ensuring access to goods consumed by the world, ma’am, not just Indonesians,” said Effendi.

Therefore, according to Effendi, his party also needs to get an explanation, not just the image in the media. Effendi also questioned Jokowi’s recent visits to China, South Korea and Japan.

“So I also want to ask what was the last visit to China, Japan and Korea like? Later, after you explain it, I want to explore it ma’am, so I can get the details first. from you, then I will delve into it,” he concluded.
