Indonesia and Canada agree to strengthen labor cooperation

jpnn.com, GENEVA – Labor Minister Ida Fauziyah held a bilateral meeting with Canada’s Minister of Labor Seamus O’Regan.

The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of employment.

Minister of Manpower Ida said that so far, Indonesia and Canada have maintained close relations in various fields.

Among them are within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the G20 and the United Nations (UN).

In addition, Indonesia and Canada also have a cooperative relationship under the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA), a forum created to support economic growth, trade and investment, including job creation for people in both countries.

“This forum can be a forum for the two countries to exchange ideas, discuss and explore trade issues that benefit both parties, which supports the improvement of the employment sector,” the minister said. de la Main-d’oeuvre Ida in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday (8/6) local time.

He said that at the previous ICA-CEPA meeting, the Government of Canada had proposed forming a working group on labor to discuss labor issues.
