No wonder Canada’s national team squad is full of golden generations ready to take their country back to the World Cup

SOREANG NEWSPAPER – The success of the Canadian national team so far, which has occupied the throne of the Concacaf zone rankings, cannot be separated from the role of its golden generation.

It is said to be a golden generation because the current Canadian workforce is reinforced by players who rise with their club.

Of course, Alphonso Davies’ name is mentioned the most during today’s Canadian national team audition.

Alphonso Davies, who currently plays for giant club Bayern Munich, has emerged as one of the potential young players in European competition.

The 21-year-old left-back picked up plenty of success at a young age, including playing a role for Bayern winning the Champions League, Bundesliga, German Cup and Club World Cup.

In fact, despite his left-back role, Davies managed to win the 2017 Gold Cup tournament’s top scorer with 3 goals.

In addition to Alphonso Davies, the Canadian formation now has a sharp striker targeted by the big European clubs, Jonathan David.

David, who last season led his club Lille to win the French Ligue 1, is often associated with clubs such as Inter Milan, Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham United.

The pair of players from Turkish giant club Besiktas also strengthens the Canadian national team at the moment. Atiba Hutchinson and Cyle Larin add to the Reds squad which feels even more complete.

Two Canadian forwards, Jonathan Davis and Cyle Larin are even the top two scorers in the 2022 Concacaf Zone World Cup qualifiers (Larin 12 goals, Davis 8).

Added to this are two other young players who have played in two other European clubs, Stephen Eustaquio (FC Porto) and Liam Millar (FC Basel).

So it’s not too surprising that Canada finally made it back to the World Cup after 36 years away, as it’s safe to say that the Reds have their golden generation right now.
