Puan and Muhaimin’s pilgrimage to Kalibata TMP, PDI-P and PKB signals will be the coalition

Jakarta – The signal of cooperation between the PDI-P and the National Awakening Party (PKB) seems to be materializing in the face of the 2024 general elections. This is evident from the closeness of the PDI-P DPP President, Puan Maharani, when she PKB General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar visited the grave of Taufiq Kiemas.

Puan and Muhaimin are seen reading yasin and tahlilan while praying for Taufiq Kiemas at his grave at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP), South Jakarta on Sunday (25/09/2022).

Muhaimin Iskandar is known to have had a close relationship with Puan’s biological father since he was young.

Puan and Muhaimin, who is colloquially known as Cak Imin, were accompanied by their respective ranks.

“Alhamdulillah, we both did tahlil, yasin, ihktiar aswaja so we could pray for the late Pak Taufiq Kiemas,” Puan said.

After the pilgrimage, Puan and Cak Imin went to the Pecel Pincuk restaurant in the Kalibata TMP complex area. The two DPR leaders sat apart from their party ranks and had serious conversations.

After that, Puan and PDI elite Perjuaangan gave a surprise cake to Cak Imin, who celebrated his birthday today. According to Puan, she and Cak Imin are like brothers because they have been fighting since the New Order era.

“We both knew him from high school and college students, and we came here as DPR chairman and DPR vice-chairman. We hope this meeting will bring blessings, brotherly solidarity,” he said.

The first woman who served as speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives added that she and Cak Imin often exchanged ideas. Puan stressed that today’s meeting is always about how to build a better nation in the future.

“Now we are together, just hope that (in the future) we can be more together. And of course this meeting, as I said in the last meeting, with NasDem, Gerindra, hope is how in the future we can both look for ideas, build the nation. Not just in the 2024 challenge, but even after the 2024 challenge,” Puan explained.

Puan said that she and Cak Imin used to meet under various conditions. There is no exception in simple food stalls like what is done today because they have a closeness, both personal and political.

“Generally, the meeting takes place at the office, at home. It’s a peaceful place, because the PDI-P and the PKB are the same party, the flip flops, the little people,” Puan said.

“Today’s meeting is special. Because apart from Cak Imin’s birthday, this meeting serves as a springboard for the momentum that we have agreed that in the future we will try to find common ground so that we can build the nation and the country together added the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

Puan also said that this meeting opens the possibility of cooperation between the PDI-P and the PKB in the general elections of 2024. Moreover, she and Cak Imin as well as the PDI-P and the PKB have good relations and cooperation for a long time.

“As brothers, of course, we know when it’s time to compete, when it’s time to compete. It is the most important. So because it’s still a year away, I think we can continue to build, to be open, to align our vision and our mission, our ideals,” Puan explained.

Meanwhile, Cak Imin expressed his gratitude for Puan and PDI Perjuangan’s birthday cake. He also revealed that he went on a pilgrimage with Puan because he considered Taufiq Kiemas as his own father because since he was an activist, Cak Imin participated in the struggle for IDP President Megawati Soekarnoputri at the time. of the New Order.

“Pak Taufiq Kiemas (TK) gives us ideas every day, ideas, finally like his own father. Even when we need what we need, tuition is not enough, Mr. TK helps. Actually the last time I wanted to apply to my wife, I had no money, I asked Mr. Taufiq Kiemas. So our parents are right,” Cak Imin explained.

Cak Imin also hopes to continue forming a coalition with the PDI-P. Although PKB has agreed to cooperate with Gerindra for the 2024 general elections, according to him, the political momentum can still develop.

“Let’s hope that will be the way and that the journey of the coalition lasts another year. Hopefully there will be pilots continue, the development will be dynamic. What is clear is that we hope that the PDI-P can continue with the PKB as it is now,” he concluded.
