Davies could be called the future of Canada. In the just-concluded 2022 World Cup, Davies stood out for his country.

He surprised with a goal against Croatia. However, he still wasn’t able to improve the team’s performance, which resulted in three defeats against Belgium, Croatia and Morocco. Canada only finished in 31st place.

The record was set by 22-year-old Alphonso Davies for the fastest goal in a 2022 World Cup group stage match. It’s a record that has been broken since Clint Dempsey scored in 29 seconds against Ghana in 2014.

After excelling for the local youth team, at age 14 he was scouted by the Vancouver Whitecaps and a year later was playing professionally in the USL for the Whitecaps second team.

Davies became the first player born in the 2000s to feature in Major League Soccer when he made rapid progress in their first team.

Before long, Davies would become a full international with Canada. Around this time, a number of top European clubs also showed interest. After two full seasons in MLS, 17-year-old Davies joins Bayern in what is an ML transfer record
