The Sekanak-Lambidaro Palembang area becomes a car-free night spot

COMPAS.com – The area of ​​Sekanak-Lambidaro River basin on Radial Road, Bukit Kecil District, Palembang City, South Sumatra will be the place for night days without motorized vehicles (night without a car or CFN) from Friday (2/9/2022).

“Furthermore, we will enforce the CFN effectively every Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. WIB – 12:00 a.m. WIB,” Palembang City Regional Secretary Ratu Dewa was quoted as saying by Antara. BetweenFriday (8/26/2022).

Ratu explained that the CFN was organized to support the Palembang city government’s plan to make the area a walking trail, complete with culinary, craft and entertainment tours.

He added that the registered UMKM (micro, small and medium enterprises) and art community of Palembang would be concentrated in the area.

The CFN plan for the pedestrian lane, he continued, has already passed the stage of cross-sectoral discussions with the sub-district government, the transport department (Dishub), the civil service police unit (Satpol-PP) and the Traffic Police Unit in the region.

From this discussion, an agreement was reached regarding the flow of traffic. In detail, traffic flow to Jalan Radial will be diverted on a pre-determined route, from Jalan Merdeka to Jalan Captain A Rivai.
