VIDEO: Highlights from the U-20 Women’s World Cup, Nigeria beat Canada on Matchday 3

Bola.com, Jakarta Competition U-20 Women’s World Cup 2022 now entering day three or game three. One of the matches featured on Thursday (08/18/22) morning Indonesian time, brought together Nigeria to oppose Canada. The match which took place at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto, Costa Rica, the Nigerian national team won 3-1 over Canada.

The match had only lasted two minutes, Canada had managed to excel first. The Nigerian keeper made an error in front of goal which Canadian Kaila Lillyanna Novak took advantage of. 1-0 Canada leads.

In the 24th minute, Nigeria were awarded a penalty after a Canadian player, Mia Pante, handball in the penalty box area. Esther Chinemerem Onyenezide, who would be the executor of the sentence, managed to do her job. Position to be 1-1.

In the 32nd minute, the referee awarded Nigeria a penalty again. Esther, who again became the executor, scored a goal for Nigeria. Nigeria leads 2-1.

The match ended with an extra Nigerian goal courtesy of Chioma Olise’s kick in the 90th+1 minute. The final score was 3-1 for Nigeria’s victory.

This result makes Nigeria leader of group C U-20 Women’s World Cup 2022 with 3 wins. Temporary Canadaoccupies the bottom position of the Group C standings.
