Not only mining, but resources from other sectors are also often targeted by foreign countries, including Canada. It is not uncommon for some of Indonesia’s premium products to be exported to the country as well.

Here is a look at some of the Indonesian treasures exported to Canada:
1. Crumb Rubber
Crumb rubber is one of Indonesia’s main export products to Canada. Referring to Central Statistical Agency (BPS) data on crumb rubber exports by major destination countries for 2012-2020, Canada is one of them.
It is recorded that in 2020, rubber powder exports from Indonesia to Canada reached 73,000 tons. This figure showed a slight increase compared to the previous year which was around 72,600 tonnes.
However, the highest export figure was in 2017, which reached 90,000 tons of rubber powder.
2. Coffee
Coffee is one of Indonesia’s treasures. In this case, it is not uncommon for other countries to target these assets. One of them is Canada.
Quoted by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, based on the Coffee Business Intelligence study in 2020, Canada ranks as the 10th country with the highest per capita coffee consumption in the world. The average reaches 7 kg per person each year.
