The ship transported 1,687 people from 58 countries from Port Sudan on the east coast of Sudan in the Red Sea to Jeddah. The Saudi-flagged ship “Amana” docked at King Faisal Naval Base before 5 a.m. local time.

The 1,687 evacuees included 13 Saudi citizens and 1,674 people of foreign nationality (WNA).

“As a continuation of the evacuation efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Kingdom’s leadership, several refugees arrived from the Republic of Sudan to the city of Jeddah today on a royal ship, which included 13 Saudi nationals and 1,674 from foreigners,” the ministry said.

Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah, Eko Hartono, said the evacuation was carried out for the Sudanese refugees and they arrived in Jeddah at 06:00 Saudi time or 10:00 WIB.

“Everyone is healthy and safe, some are tired as it takes 16 hours by ferry from Port Sudan to Jeddah,” he said when contacted.

According Arabic News, that the evacuees were 46 Americans, 40 British, 11 Germans, 4 French, 13 Saudis, 560 Indonesians, 239 Yemenis, 198 Sudanese and 26 Turks on board.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said the evacuation was carried out for 58 nationalities, including Arabs, including Oman, Syria, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Mauritania, Yemen, UNITED STATES. , Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Netherlands, Armenia, Hungary, Sweden, Turkey, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Djibouti, Cape Verde, Congo, Madagascar, Côte d Ivory, Somalia, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Croatia, Nicaragua, Liberia, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Philippines, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Chad, Bangladesh, Niger, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia insists on continuing its efforts to meet all the needs of foreigners by facilitating preparations for departure to their respective countries.

The ministry said the total number of refugees from Sudan since the start of the evacuation is about 2,148 people, including 114 Saudi nationals and 2,034 people belonging to 62 nationalities. As the circulating video shows, refugees from Sudan embrace naval officers upon arrival in Jeddah.
