Preparations for the World Cup begin with a tournament in Bonn, where an international match against Sweden will be played (August 5). Four days later in Berlin against Canada, after which the Super Cup took place in Hamburg on 13/12. August (with Canada, China and New Zealand). Finally, there will be an endurance test against Greece and the United States in Abu Dhabi on August 19 and 20.
At the 2019 World Cup in China, the German national team led by predecessor Herbert Henrik Rudel disappointed by finishing 18th. However, the DBB team at least secured tickets for the Olympic qualifying tournament, won it in Split/Croatia and participated in the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
