The super pork has crossed international borders, at least into North Dakota.
According to Field and Stream, they now walk very freely. The Super Hog is coming south, possibly heading to Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota and Michigan.
“They (pigs) are the worst large mammals on the planet. Period,” Ryan Brook, a wildlife researcher and professor at the University of Saskatchewan who has studied pigs for more than a decade, told Insider.
“Wild pigs eat anything. They devour tons of goslings and ducks in the spring. They can beat white-tailed deer, even adult deer,” Brook said, as quoted by Science Alert, Thursday (04/06/2023).
The super pork has crossed international borders, at least into North Dakota. The super hog has become adept at repelling recreational hunters, sometimes with full sounders.
This is a term for a group of pigs, usually led by a nocturnal adult sow to escape the chase.
At other times, the Sounders will spread out, making them harder to find, or change their pattern and retreat into forests or wetlands.
The best strategy to master super pig uses the Judas Pig concept, which attaches a GPS collar to a pig to direct officials to other pigs.
European wild boar was first introduced to Canada in the 1980s to introduce new, exotic pork products that could be marketed and served only in high-end restaurants.
But when wild boars started showing up on farms across Canada, they were crossed with domestic pigs to make them larger, more productive pigs.
The new pigs can also have thick fur, which helps them survive the unusually cold Canadian winter, which can bring weeks of sub-digit temperatures.
