Bisnis.com, SOLO – Crew badminton Indonesia achieve a dominant victory with a score of 3-0 against Canada in the first match Sudirman Cup 2023.

The 2023 Sudirman Cup tournament will be held in Suzhou, China from May 14-21. The Indonesian team is in Group B with Canada, Germany and Thailand.

In the first game against Canada on Monday (5/15/2023), the Indonesian team won a landslide 3-0 victory.

Indonesia’s first point was won by mixed doubles count, Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah beat Adam Dong/Josephine Wu 22-20, 21-15.

Playing as early reps, Adnan/Nita looked nervous going into the opener. Obviously, they had gone quite far after the intermission.

Luckily, Adnan/Nita can get out of the pressure. The highlight, they managed to catch up and win the first game after going through set points, 22-20.

The second game was easier for the Indonesian pair. They could go 11-6 at the interval.

Also, Adnan and Nita kept running until they won 19-9 over Adam/Josephine. Six straight points for Canada didn’t derail Indonesia’s victory. Adnan/Nita also won 21-15 in the second game.

Ginting added points to Indonesia coffers after beating Brian Yang 21-17, 21-16.

Much like the opener, Ginting was also left behind at the start of the opener. Seven straight points lifted Ginting.

After winning 11-9 at the break, Ginting was consistent and won 20-14, before winning the opener 21-17.

The second game is tighter. Brian didn’t want to lose like that, he even won 11-10 at the break.

But Ginting showed class by turning things around 15-14. Cimahi player West Java then widened the gap to 19-14 and eventually won 21-16.

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung determined Indonesia’s victory over Canada with a score of 3-0. Gregoria defeated Talia Ng in back to back matches 21-14, 21-13.

The world number 10 looked comfortable throughout the game. Going into the first game, Gregoria was leading 11-8 before halftime.

After the break, Talia had caught up at 12-15, but Gregoria didn’t let her guard down and finished the opener 21-14.

Talia looks frustrated with Gregoria’s slashing punch. He led 9-13 and dropped six consecutive points thereafter.

Gregoria’s pace was unstoppable and eventually won 21-13 over Talia Ng, while securing Indonesia’s victory over Canada.
