‘Don’t think he lost momentum’: Fernando Alonso blames Lance Stroll’s poor performance for bad luck

Aston Martin enjoyed a revival of form with Fernando Alonso leading the team to the front of the grid. However, despite Alonso’s frequent podium finishes, teammate Lance Stroll was unable to maximize the car’s potential. A series of dark appearances have people questioning Stroll’s abilities. However, Alonso has always supported Stroll. According to Reuters, Alonso says luck, not speed, was the main determining factor in Stroll’s poor form.

Go for a walk had a shaky start to the season as he recovered from a wrist injury following a cycling accident before the start of the season. He finished P6 in his first game of the season in Bahrain. In Saudi Arabia, Stroll had to retire due to engine problems. He found luck in Australia and Azerbaijan where he finished P4 and P7 respectively. However, inconsistencies crept into his form as he finished out of the points in Miami and was knocked out in Monaco.

Despite these inconsistent performances, Fernando Alonso always stood by Stroll. There is a marked difference between the performance of the two teammates in similar cars. But Fernando Alonso enjoyed Stroll throughout the season. He even called Stroll a potential future world champion.

Fernando Alonso defends Lance Stroll again

As Formula 1 heads to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso says Stroll’s poor results aren’t down to his lack of speed. It’s because luck returns and that’s it. Alonso’s claims can be backed up by the fact that Stroll had to retire in Jeddah through no fault of his own, his qualification was jeopardized in Miami after a tire miscalculation and in Monaco he crashed on the hairpin.

I think Lance was very, very unlucky the last two events.“, Alonso told the media. “So I really hope he has a bit more luck because I don’t think he’s lost the rhythm. It was just an opportunistic moment that didn’t go her way.”

Alonso also pointed out that Stroll plays an important role in providing teams with the right data to help them improve their performance. “He provided the right commentary, information and strategies on everything“, said Alonso. This has played a major role in the recent success of the England team.

Lance Stroll’s inconsistency is his worst enemy

Not all is bad for Stroll this season. The Canadian was not even expected to enter the season in Bahrain after fracturing his wrist just three weeks before the start of the season. However, he made an impressive comeback and managed to complete a respectable P6 in the race. He also finished P4 in Australia and just missed out on the podium.

Walkers need not worry too much about the consequences of poor results. The seat is one of the safest Formula 1 seats today. His father, Lawrence Stroll, owns the Aston Martin Formula 1 team and it is hoped he will support his son no matter what.

However, Stroll must find his own fortune if his team is to compete for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. They are currently just one point ahead of Mercedes in the standings. Lance Stroll has a measly 27 points to Alonso’s 93. The Canadian needs to start performing well if he wants to help his father’s side achieve their goals.
