F1 News: Formula 1 stresses there is no risk going ahead with the Canadian Grand Prix next weekend, despite bushfires and smog across much of the country North America.
Wildfires in Canada, along with high winds, have caused smoke to spread to all parts of the country, as well as the northeast and midwest of the United States.
The incident caused deterioration of air quality in several areas and affected flights, as well as several sporting and entertainment events.
Formula 1 has spoken with local promoters in Montreal and confirmed that next weekend’s race, at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, is not compromised by the wildfires.
Air quality in Montreal has improved in recent days after plummeting due to smoke from wildfires earlier in the week.
F1 track activity will begin in Montreal next Friday (June 16) where two scheduled practice sessions are scheduled.
Also on the Canadian Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull will co-host the broadcasts on three Formula 1 Grands Prix in 2024.
Ricciardo will team up with actor and comedian Will Arnett to host the show The gallery is with Daniel Ricciardo and Will Arnett.
The program will take place at the Canadian, Austin and Las Vegas races.
The show, which will air on ESPN2 in the United States, will feature the guest during the Grand Prix providing commentary.
