Red Bull Racing has just announced that its former driver, Sebastian Vettel, has signed a contract to appear alongside third-rate driver Daniel Ricciardo at a special event at the Nurburgring circuit in September. Vettel will drive the 2011 RB7 car, while Ricciardo will drive the RB8 car.

In an interview ahead of the Canadian GP, ​​Max Verstappen admitted he persuaded Die Roten Bullen adviser Helmut Marko to be allowed to take part. Unfortunately, he didn’t get Marko’s blessing.

“I wanted to do it, but Helmut didn’t allow me. He knew I would try to push my limits. I really wanted to do it,” Verstappen said as quoted by Motorsport.com.

Although the 25-year-old still had a chance to talk to Marko again, he chose to give up as he didn’t want to cause any trouble.
