The Chinese Consulate General in Pakistan clarified the allegation through Dawn Media, with the headline “Canada Suspects Other Chinese Police Stations” appearing on May 15.
Based on the accusations made by Canada, China is operating more police stations in the country to intimidate or harass Canadian citizens from Beijing.
Responding to the accusations, the consulate called Ottawa’s report “very misleading and far from the facts.”
Beijing has no overseas police stations, the consulate said. The agency is a group of Chinese volunteers who help provide services, not police personnel.
“The organization that Canada describes as a ‘police station’ is actually an institution that helps overseas Chinese who cannot return to China due to the pandemic renew their driver’s license and perform physical examinations,” a consulate spokesperson said. DawnWednesday (17/5).
For this reason, Chinese officials in Karachi have urged the Canadian side to stop spreading disinformation that continues to tarnish China’s reputation and discredit its country.
