Bisnis.com, JAKARTA- Concert the longest in the world directed by Kevin Ker, Shaen Armstrong and Epidemic Music Group.
This concert lasted 437 hours 54 minutes 40 seconds from March 17 to April 5, 2017.
The concert, which took place at the Earl of Whitchurch, Ontario, Canada, is officially certified by Guinness: Stouffville holds the world record for the longest concert in history.
Epidemic Music Group chose to break the record in an effort to unite their nation in the national celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday.
Kevin Ker, endured a marathon gig of 437 hours of live music at the Earl of Whitchurch Pub over 18 days from March 17 to April 4, 2017. They also breathed a sigh of relief when the gig was able to secure a Guinness World Record.
Ker and his colleagues realized that being certified as a Guinness World Record holder was almost as difficult as putting on the world’s longest concert itself.
Every second of the performance, more than 400 performers must be carefully documented.
Six terabytes of video collected from eight cameras operating non-stop during the event were submitted to Guinness, along with cross-posting lists, witness statements, artist notes, photographs and media coverage.
This is all to ensure a number of strict criteria set by Guinness, including that there can be no more than 30 seconds between numbers during the entire show.
Additionally, there cannot be more than five minutes of onstage switching between hour-long shows, and there cannot be more than one performance of the same song on the set list within four hours for any event.
“I don’t want to be known as the guy who organized a team that didn’t get a record. I’m pretty adamant that the only option is to get it right and put together the best team possible and build ‘inspire everyone to have the same vision and we did well. It all turned out well,” Ker said.
In addition to the 60 bands playing in 10 venues on Main St. in Stouffville on both days, Wintersong also featured presentations from the Guinness jury on the main stage that officially awarded the award to the town.
