F1 News: Max Verstappen is determined to achieve another Formula 1 achievement after his name went down in history for equaling Ayrton Senna’s victory.
Max Verstappen managed to amaze the fans when he won the Canadian GP. As well as dominating Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, he also equaled F1 legend Ayrton Senna’s record of 41 wins.
“Of course, being able to have the same record as Ayrton is something extraordinary. I’m proud of that,” he said, as quoted by the official F1 website.
“But of course, I hope my journey doesn’t end there. Hopefully we can continue to win more races.”
Verstappen then revealed that he had big ambitions in addition to achieving good racing results.
“Although I don’t like to compare different generations, when I was a kid driving karts I dreamed of becoming an F1 driver and never imagined winning 41 Grands Prix,” he explains.
Additionally, the 25-year-old racer was motivated by the career of his father, Jos Verstappen, in the dirt jet event.
“So many stories we could share. Sometimes we still talk about it when we’re with him (Jos Verstappen). I probably won’t fully realize how much he’s done for me. And after having my kids, I finally started to understand that kind of relationship,” he says.
To note, Max Verstappen was unbeaten throughout F1 2023. So far he is still comfortably leading the F1 2023 standings by registering 195 points.
