JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A team of Canadian citizen legal advisers called a fugitive from Interpol with the initials SG (50), Pahrur Dalimunthe, has accused Bali police of numerous irregularities leading to his client’s arrest.
One of the irregularities was in the Interpol red notice letter shown by the police.
In Interpol Red Notice No. A-6452/80-2022, it is clearly stated that there was no arrest order like the one executed by the police.
“Here (the red notice) clearly says, ‘This red notice is not to be treated as a request for the provisional arrest of the subject’, which means that this red notice cannot be used as a request for arrest,” said Pahrur in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/6/2023).

The next oddity, Pahrur said, was that the case that ensnared SG allegedly took place in 2021 in Canada.
In fact, his client has been living in Bali for a long time. SG has lived on the Island of the Gods for three years.
He also holds a limited residence card number: 2c22E10433-W issued by the TPI Ngurah Rai immigration office.
“Our client has several businesses in Bali. He’s a good person, he also has a lot of workers. So it’s very strange when he gets dragged into a business. Especially in 2021, he won’t be in Canada anymore,” said said Pahrur. .

Therefore, Pahrur and his team submitted a preliminary lawsuit in Denpasar District Court on Monday (5/6/2023).
The purpose of the pre-trial was to prove that the arrest procedure carried out by the police was illegal. Indeed, the arrest did not comply with the red notice letter.
“What we conveyed at the pre-trial was to make it clear that the proceedings against our client were illegal, violating procedures. In fact, there is no reason to extradite him to his country of origin. “said Pahrur’s partner, Boris Tampubolon.
“Then we will consider whether the red notice can be used as a basis to arrest or extradite our clients, even if the identities are all different. The passport numbers are even different,” he continued.
On the other hand, his party has also denounced unscrupulous civilians who claim to have relations with members of the Hubinter National Police while wearing red notice sheets to extort SG.
It is known that the report, which was registered under the number LP/B/287/VI/SPKT/Polda Bali, was made today, and was addressed directly to a civilian with the initials AD.
As previously reported, Bali Police arrested SG (50) who was declared a fugitive by Interpol at a villa in Canggu Berawa, North Kuta, Badung, Bali on Saturday (20/5/2023).
The man with passport AA495494 has been wanted by Interpol with red notice status since August 2022. He is suspected of being involved in a fraud and counterfeiting case in Canada.
In Interpol red notices, SG is suspected of having committed fraud on the pension funds of 335 people with a total loss of 74.6 million rupees.
“This arrest was based on a letter from Kadiv Hubinter Polri Number: R/347/V/HUM.4.4.9/2023/Divhubinter, dated May 19, 2023, regarding the request for arrest and detention subject to Interpol SG Red Notice, and Arrest Warrant Number: SP.Kap/47/V/2023/Ditreskrimum, May 20, 2023,” said Bali Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, in a written statement, Saturday.
