DENPASAR – The extortion allegations against Stéphane Gagnon (50), a fugitive from Interpol Canada are increasingly revealed. Gagnon reported the person who brokered the IDR 1 billion extortion (markus) deal to Bali police on Tuesday (6/6/2023).
Markus is a foreign citizen with the initials AD. “AD acts as an intermediary or liaison with members of the national police’s international relations division,” said Ahmad Syarkowi, Gagnon’s lawyer at Bali police headquarters.

He explained that AD had been reported to the Bali Police Criminal Investigation Branch this afternoon. The contents of the police report consist of allegations of extortion within the meaning of Article 368 of the Criminal Code.
In the police report, evidence is included in the form of conversations and transfer notes. He hopes the police will immediately investigate and arrest AD.

As previously reported, Gagnon admitted that Rp. 1 billion was extorted four weeks before his arrest in Vila Aman, Canggu, North Kuta on May 19, 2023.
Initially, Gagnon was contacted by someone claiming to have knowledge at Divhub Inter Police. The civilian believed to be Markus then stated that if Gagnon did not pay the requested money, he would be arrested.
