Jakarta: Minister of Commerce (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan accompanied Indonesian President Joko Widodo with a mission of stability and peace which is ready to be accomplished at the G20 summit to be held in India on September 9-10, 2023.

“I accompanied the President to India to attend the G20 summit which will take place on Saturday and Sunday. As the President said, Indonesia has a commitment to stability and peace which will be expressed at the G20 summit in India,” said the commerce minister. in a written statement, as reported BetweenSaturday September 9, 2023.

India hosted the summit, or G20 Summit. The two-day summit was attended by a number of influential state leaders.

The commerce minister said he had already visited India to attend the G20 ministerial-level meeting on trade and investment. The event is titled G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting (TIMM) and will be held in Jaipur, India on August 24-25, 2023.

Trade deal at G20 summit in India

During the meeting, most of the agreements in the commercial sector were finalized. It is hoped that this will soon produce beneficial results for Indonesia.

“Most of the agreements in the trade sector have been finalized to be able to contribute to useful results. Today, I have been asked to accompany the President again to India for the G20 summit,” said the Minister of Trade.

The G20 is the leading forum for international economic cooperation made up of countries with major global economies.

The members of the G20 are Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Union, France, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Japan, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Led by India, the G20 focused on reforming the international debt architecture, regulation regarding cryptocurrencies, and the impact of geopolitical uncertainty on food and energy security.
