10 best presidential planes in the world

These various activities, very busy, certainly require rapid mobility and adequate means of transport, one of which is plane.

But of course, they travel on presidential planes designed and equipped with different performance, safety and operations than general planes.

1. Boeing VC 25 – United States

It could be said that it belongs to the presidential and executive aviation echelon, this jet is the aircraft used by the President of the United States, with the highest level of security and flies on a Boeing VC-25.

This aircraft is equipped with luxurious interiors, meeting and conference spaces and sophisticated technology. This aircraft is capable of traveling up to 7,800 miles and can accommodate more than 100 passengers.

2. Boeing E-4B – United States

The Boeing E-4B is also known as the “doomsday plane”. Based on the Boeing 747, this heavily modified aircraft is specially designed for emergency situations, capable of surviving almost any worst possible scenario.

The interesting fact is that this aircraft is equipped with a thermal radiation shield, can fly for 620 hours without the need to refuel and is equipped with 67 satellite dishes and antennas.

3. IIyushin IL-96-300PU and Tupolev TU-214 – Russia

This heavily modified aircraft is the preferred choice of the Russian president and other leaders for exploring the skies.

The Russian Federation currently has a fleet of five IL-96-300PU aircraft ready for use at any time. These large planes generally have a capacity of 262 seats arranged in a 2-class configuration.

4. Airbus A330-243 Prestige – Kazakhstan

The presidential widebody is typically reserved for important global events such as the G20 summit, and has been used for official government trips and business trips to Russia, China and the United States.

With a glass cockpit, two engines and dual landing gear (instead of the usual three), the plane is more agile than the A340. Other jets sometimes used for official presidential travel are the Airbus A320-214 CJ Prestige and the Airbus A321-211 CJ.

5. Airbus A340-300 airliner – Germany

Once Lufthansa’s aircraft of choice, the German Chancellor’s fleet consists of two modified Airbus A340-300s, as well as several Airbus A320 business jets.

The A340 is a long-range airliner featuring a wide-body design and a 3-class layout with 210 to 290 seats. On the other hand, the A320 is a traditional business jet but with a very wide fuselage and improvements in terms of range, efficiency and equipment.

6. Boeing 747-400 – China

The leaders of the People’s Republic of China do not have a dedicated presidential plane. Instead, they chose to use Boeing 747-400s specifically for Air China’s official fleet.

The Boeing 747-400 is a large wide-body airliner that has been improved over the standard 747 model to offer increased efficiency, range and turbofan engines. Capable of accommodating up to 416 passengers with a 3-class layout, this aircraft has extensive space and features, making it one of the best-selling aircraft models.

7. Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777-300ER – Japan

Traditionally, the Japanese Prime Minister uses a set of two 747s as his preferred aircraft. However, the 747 was replaced by the 777.

The Boeing 777, commonly known as the Triple Seven, is a wide-body airliner designed to fill the gap between the 767 and 747 models. Among the twin-engine aircraft models, the Triple Seven is the largest, capable of carrying between 301 -368 passengers in 3-class layout.

8. Airbus A330-200 – French Republic

For the French president, the Airbus A330-200 is the aircraft of choice, having been converted and adapted for VIP transport.

The A330-200 represents more than 20 years of aeronautical innovation, capable of carrying between 210 and 250 passengers. The wide design allows for plenty of personal space, while the modern seats provide excellent comfort levels for long flights.

Other aircraft in their fleet include the Airbus A310-300 and A340-200.

9. Royal Air Force Airbus A330MRTT – Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Converted to meet the VIP needs of heads of state, the Royal Air Force Airbus A330MRTT is the aircraft of choice. This particular Airbus model is a global favorite, with over 12 countries having ordered over 60 of these aircraft.

While the standard configuration is capable of accommodating up to 380 passengers with single and double class configurations, this particular aircraft has been designed to carry 58 business class seats.

10. Airbus A310-300 – Canada

Another Airbus aircraft, the A310-300 is a wide-body twinjet capable of carrying up to 220 passengers. This plane is the favorite plane of the Canadian Prime Minister, who has a fleet of modified A310-300s. (Krescensia Kinanti)
