Undergraduate Scholarship in Canada 2023, offers a stipend of IDR 549 million per year

KOMPAS.com – For those of you who wish to continue your studies in Canada, you can apply for an international scholarship with the University of British Columbia (UBC). This scholarship is available for undergraduate level (S1).

Scholars will study at UBC. This scholarship is open until November 15, 2023.

Scholarship coverage

Prospective students eligible for this scholarship are entitled to a scholarship of US$35,000 or IDR549 million per year.

If this amount cannot cover tuition and living expenses, students can enroll in the International Scholar program.

There are 4 pathways in this scholarship and applicants cannot choose one type of program to be accepted. However, the committee will determine which route will be assigned to each applicant.

1. Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award

This scholarship is awarded to students who have good academic standing, exemplary leadership skills, are active in organizations, and serve the community.

2. Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award

This scholarship is awarded to exceptional students from poor or war-torn areas. And really need help covering tuition costs to continue their education to a higher level.

3. International Impact Award

The scholarships are awarded to exceptional students who have demonstrated leadership and commitment and solutions to sustainability and climate change, conservation and management of natural resources, social justice, equality and inclusion or community well-being.

4. Vantage One Excellence Award

Scholarships offered by UBC Vantage College to international students who excel academically.

However, it does not meet the English language admission standards for direct admission to UBC.

Application criteria

International students who will study in Canada and have a Canadian study permit.
Have been accepted as a student at UBC
High school graduates and no earlier than one year before the start of the academic year. For example, applicants for courses in 2024 must have graduated from high school no later than November 2022.
Have superior academic results (have achieved all A standards or equivalent)
Demonstrate a financial situation that requires assistance to cover tuition fees to study at UBC
Meets general and degree-specific requirements as well as UBC English language admission standards

Registration flow

1. Register online on the page https://undergraduatescholarships.ubc.ca/prog/2024_international_scholars_program_application/

2. Determine the degree program you will study while studying at UBC.

3. To register for the international scholarship program, this can only be done with a recommendation from the school.

4. Gather financial records and records as well as notes on extracurricular activities and awards received.

5. Apply for the international scholarship program no later than November 15, 2023.

6. Submit the application for admission to UBC by December 1st.

Application deadline: November 15, 2023
Deadline for submitting online applications: December 1, 2023
Announcement of success in the English selection: January 31, 2024
Delivery of all required documents: January 31, 2024
Announcement received: mid-April 2024
