SURABAYA, iNewsSurabaya.id – Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste, HE Jess Dutton, with a group from Nutrition International, visited the PT Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur factory on Jalan Kalianak, Surabaya on Wednesday (28/2/2024 ). This visit aims to review the iodized salt production process as part of Canada's support for the Indonesian government's nutritional monitoring.
Jess explained that Canada's presence at the factory was part of a partnership with Nutrition International, in particular to support the production of iodized salt, very important for the health of pregnant women and children in Indonesia.
“This investment is an investment in the future, ensuring that pregnant women and children receive adequate nutrition for optimal growth, in line with President Jokowi's priority of reducing stunting rates,” Jess said.
Jess added that the aim of Canada's support is to ensure that PT Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur produces high quality iodized salt to required standards.
During the factory tour, Jess expressed satisfaction with the quality of iodized salt produced by PT Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur. “The quality of the salt is very good according to the required standards, it is very important for the health of pregnant women and children,” he said with a smile.
