AMLAPURA– A foreign national (WNA) from Canada named Beauchamp Gaston, 70, was found dead with bruises in a river in Banjar Dinas Karanganyar area, Nyuhtebel village, Manggis district, Monday (12/11) morning.
Head of Public Relations of the Karangasem Police, Iptu I Gede Sukadana, with the permission of the Karangasem Police Chief, said that the incident of finding the body of a Canadian foreigner began when the wife of the victim searched for the whereabouts of the victim who suddenly disappeared from the bedroom of Bayshore Villa in Nyuhtebel village.
“Before his disappearance, this victim was seen by his wife waking up at 3:00 a.m.,” he said.

Then his wife went back to sleep. It was only around 6 a.m. when he woke up in the morning that the woman did not find her husband in the bedroom of the villa. Eventually, the woman tried to report it to the villa worker. Then a search is performed.
“Around 7 a.m., the villa employee saw the victim's sandals floating in the river east of the villa,” he said.
After a search, not far from the discovery of the victim's sandals, a foreigner who had lived in Karangasem for quite a long time was found sitting in a river, already dead.

“Eventually it was reported to the police and relevant agencies,” Sukadana explained.
He explained that the results of the external examination revealed a number of bruises on the victim's face and body. It is currently suspected that the victim died after falling from the 10 meter high roof of the villa.
“This victim is paralyzed. It is suspected that she crawled onto the roof,” he added.
Currently, the victim's body is deposited at the Karangasem regional hospital.***
