Jesse Marsch ready to take on big challenges with the Canadian national team

Football News: Jesse Marsch is now ready to take on a big challenge as head coach of the Canadian national team. In his new position, Marsch will lead the team in matches against tough opponents such as the Netherlands, France and World Cup champions Argentina.

The Canadian national team will play a friendly against world number seven Netherlands on June 6, followed by a match against world number two France three days later.

Lionel Messi with the Argentina national team awaits to face Canada in the opening match of the Copa America on June 20 in Atlanta.

“If I had a pre-season with the club, we would organize one or two first games against opponents in easier locations, where we can succeed,” said Jesse Marsch, after announcing his 26-man roster for the June training camp and friendly. “What a huge challenge.

“Even considering all the different challenges in my career, trying to get through those 10 days will still be difficult.

“I want to give them enough information so they understand how we’re going to move forward, but I don’t want to overwhelm them because when they step on the field, they have a million things on their minds.”

One of the main things Marsch hopes to do is build a team identity, but his first team looks familiar with 20 of the 26 names who last represented Canada under interim coach Mauro Biello .

The team will once again be led by Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, Lille’s Jonathan David and Inter Milan’s Tajon Buchanan.
