Canada beat New Zealand 2-1 in their Group A opener last Thursday but were then stripped of six points by FIFA over Canada Soccer’s drone spying scandal.
A member of the team’s coaching staff was caught using a drone to film New Zealand’s training before the start of the tournament. The Canadian Olympic Committee said it was considering an appeal.
Currently, Canada’s maximum points total in the group stage is three points, provided the defending champions beat Colombia in Nice on Wednesday.
