jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) truly embodies the 2024 slogan “Massive Movement, Progressive Work” which is not only translated in the form of internal transformation but also achieved through expanded external cooperation. This is in line with the spirit of continuous collaboration promoted by BP2MI Head Benny Rhamdani.
Recently, BP2MI paid a working visit to Canada to expand employment opportunities in the North American region. During the visit, the delegation led by BP2MI Principal Secretary Rinardi paid a courtesy call with Indonesian Ambassador to Canada Daniel Tumpal Simanjuntak at Wisma Indonesia in Ottawa, Thursday (11/7).
Rinardi said BP2MI is committed to collaborating with the provincial government of New Brunswick, Canada, in the health sector with the G to G (government to government) program. According to Rinardi, it is possible that other provinces and territories in Canada will also follow suit by establishing cooperation with the Indonesian government.
“BP2MI’s agenda for this working visit is to explore cooperation with the provincial government of New Brunswick, Canada. We will maintain BP2MI’s commitment to enhance cooperation and actively build collaboration with all parties. In Canada, cooperation is not limited to New Brunswick alone, “This opportunity is open in other regions of Canada,” Rinardi said in his statement on Thursday (25/7).
According to Rinardi, BP2MI also wants to expand cooperation by placing PMI in other sectors with the Canadian government, something that has never been explored before. In this way, BP2Mi does not simply close itself to a partial cooperation space.
“Of course, we are also not focused and have locked ourselves in some cooperation projects. That is why BP2MI is working during this visit, trying to build a dialogue in order to seek employment opportunities in other sectors. Everything we do is for the sake of Indonesian migrant workers, for the sake of ‘Dear Indonesia,'” said the former secretary of the Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK).
Indonesian Ambassador to Canada Daniel Tumpal Simanjuntak and his team welcomed BP2MI’s working visit. He also welcomed BP2MI’s plans to expand this collaboration.
“We welcome the presence of the BP2MI group for the working visit. In principle, we are involved in accompanying and transmitting information, or whatever is necessary in Canada. Regarding this cooperation, it is very good, so we will certainly provide our support for this,” Daniel said in the same statement.
