JAKARTA- Kartini, a member of Friends of Anies Abroad (SALN) in Canada, continues to pray that one day Anies Baswedan will become Indonesia’s leader.
“Always pray and hope that he will become the leader of this nation. Until now, we still hope that Allah will be present to help Anies become President of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said, Monday, October 14, 2024.
He admitted that in the 2024 presidential election he campaigned very actively for Anies Baswedan. “During the campaign, we actively support it by providing information on the WhatsApp group to our friends, relatives and loved ones,” he explained.
He believes that Anies is the right figure to one day lead Indonesia. According to him, this was proven by his leadership in DKI Jakarta.
“How he treats people with different opinions and how he treats weaker people. I think these qualities are in Anies.
“In addition to his fear of Allah, Anies possesses the qualities of an honest, trustworthy, intelligent and impartial leader,” he said.
Apart from that, he also assessed the quality of Anies Baswedan from his relationships, namely his closeness to Indonesian religious figures. “He is close to the ulemas, where the ulemas will give him the best advice and straighten him out if one day he strays from the path,” he explained.
Even though Anies Baswedan lost in the 2024 presidential election, he continued, he still appreciates Fery Farhati’s husband because he provided positive political education to the country’s young generation.
“It is very important for the sustainability of the country to listen to the aspirations of the people, especially young people. Anies gives the young generation political knowledge. Basically, Anies has many advantages that I do not have no need to explain one by one,” he said.
