The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have confirmed that the two men suspected of being involved in the stabbing attack are wanted. These attacks were carried out randomly in several locations in Saskatchewan.
Police warned the suspects who remained at large, were carrying weapons and were dangerous.
“We have found 10 deceased people at 13 locations in the James Smith Cree Nation and communities of Weldon, Saskatchewan,” RCMP Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said at a news conference Sunday afternoon. . AFPMonday (5/9/2022).

“There are several other injured victims, 15 of whom have currently been transported to various hospitals. There may be other injured victims who have made it to the hospital,” he said.
“We believe some of the victims were targeted, while others were randomly attacked,” Blackmore added.
The first public warning of a mass casualty incident was issued at 07:12 CT [waktu Kanada] on Sunday.
Saskatchewan authorities identified the two suspects and their vehicle, and since they were at large, emergency alerts were extended to the rest of the province.
“As the suspects remain at large, we have also requested that the vigilance be extended to Manitoba and Alberta,” the RCMP said.
“At this time, we have no indication that they have traveled to other provinces,” added the RCMP.
The suspects are believed to be Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson, possibly driving a black Nissan Rogue with SK 119 MPI license plates.
As the hunt continues, authorities are urging the public not to leave safe areas, not approach suspicious strangers or go for walks, and to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
