TRIBUNPALU.COM – FIFA has officially moved the schedule for the opening of the 2022 World Cup.
On the plan, the opening match of the 2022 World Cup will take place on November 20.
FIFA has brought forward the kick-off of the 2022 World Cup by one day to allow host country Qatar to play its opening match.
Qatar, who are in Group A, will open the 2022 World Cup against Ecuador.
The opening game of the 2022 World Cup between Qatar and Ecuador was played at Al Bayt Stadium.
The choice of Qatar as the opening party for the 2022 World Cup is nothing but to continue the previous tradition.
“This change ensures the continuation of the long-standing tradition of marking the start of the FIFA World Cup with an opening ceremony on the first match featuring the hosts or defending champions.”
“The decision follows an assessment of the competition and its operational implications, as well as a thorough process of consultation and agreement with key stakeholders and the host country,” FIFA said in a statement.

Group B: England, Iran, USA and Wales
Group C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland
Group D: France, Australia, Denmark and Tunisia

Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco and Croatia
