News news, Canada – A high school teacher who was walking her dog along the coast of Prince Edward Island, Canada, found the fossilized remains of an unknown animal dating back 300 million years, or about 50 million years earlier than the dinosaurs.
reported from Dailymail.co.uk9/11, Lisa St. Coeur Cormier, 36, as he was walking, saw something sticking out of the ground that was reddish in color and on closer inspection he realized it was a rib of an animal, then he saw that it was attached and that there was also a skull.
The fossil has not yet been identified, but John Calder, the geologist and paleontologist who worked on the case, suspects that it is a type of lizard or a close relative of the species of lizard. lizard.
Calder told the CBC that finds like this happen every “50 or 100 years” and that it “may be the only fossil in the evolutionary tree of life of amphibians, reptiles and mammals for us,” he continued.
Dinosaurs are thought to have lived around 245 million years ago and then died out 66 million years ago.

The creatures that roamed the Earth before were mostly sharks, bony fish, arthropods, amphibians, reptiles, and synapses.
The fossils found on the beach were small, measuring more than two feet long, but still contained incredible details that allowed researchers to determine that they lived long before the dinosaurs.
“That was the beginning of the evolution of reptiles from amphibians, and they branched out,” Calder told CBC.
“And that would be a real enigma. It may take a year to discover the identity of this fossil.
Very few fossils from before the discovery of dinosaurs, so in the end the one on the beach could become a whole new species.
Cormier said he was excited about this rare discovery because it was his chance to leave a mark on the history of science.
“To think that I found something that could be 300 million years old is incredible,” he said.
“I thought it would be [hal] only once, but I’ll keep walking and keep looking for sea glass and maybe I’ll find something else.

A set of fossilized ribs was found in someone’s garden in Portugal, but the remains are much larger and belong to a dinosaur.
After studying the skeletons, scientists found they belonged to an 82-foot-tall brachiosaurus that lived between 160 and 100 million years ago.
The fossils were discovered in 2017, but it wasn’t until earlier this month that Portuguese and Spanish paleontologists announced they had found a sauropod dinosaur around 39ft tall and 82ft long.
Axial skeletal elements have been found so far, including the spine and ribs that suggest it was a brachiosaurid.
The Brachiosauridae group lived from the Late Jurassic to the Lower Cretaceous geological period.
Unlike other sauropods, they had longer forelegs than their hind legs, resulting in a longer torso and proportionally shorter tail.
Elisabete Malafaia, a researcher at the University of Lisbon, said: “It is unusual to find all the ribs of an animal like this, let alone in this position, maintaining its original anatomical position.”
