Armed women want to break into presidential palace ahead of G20 summit in Bali, observers urge vigilance

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Terrorism watcher and director of the Indonesian Intelligence Institute, Ridlwan Habib, says the actions of the armed women are about to break through presidential palace is a warning to the security forces.

Indeed, this incident is only 20 days away from the G20 summit in Bali which will take place on November 15, 2022.

“Judging by the timing, it’s 20 days before the G20 summit in Bali. So this is a warning or a warning to security and intelligence officers to beef up and further tighten security” , Ridlwan Ridlwan Habib said when contacted on Tuesday (25/10/2022).

According to him, security forces must be able to anticipate the potential for similar actions so that they do not happen again during the G20 summit in Bali.

Anticipation, according to him, can be done by strengthening the sources of information linked to possible acts of terrorism before the G20 summit.

“This includes strengthening sources of information through various existing networks so that there is no similar action in Bali later,” he said.

Heads of state attended the G20 summit

A number of heads of state invited to the November G20 summit in Bali will attend the forum.

G20 members include 19 countries and 1 region, namely Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, People’s Republic of China or China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia , Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Africa. South, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and European Union.

But apart from these 20 countries, Indonesia has also invited other countries to the G20 forum in its presidency.

Quoting the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on April 13, 2022, Indonesia has invited nine guest countries (guests) who will later give their views in priority discussions.

These countries are Spain, Chairperson of the African Union, Chairperson of the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AU-NEPAD), Chairperson of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN), the Netherlands, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, President of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and President of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF).

In addition to the countries, 10 international organizations were invited, namely the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Financial Stability Board (FSB), the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), World Bank, World Health Organization (WHO), World Trade Organization (WTO) and United Nations (UN).
