BSSN monitors potential data theft before and after G20 summit

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency Spokesperson (BSSNAriandi Putra said his party had identified various potential cyber threats that arose during the High Level Conference (KTT). G20 in Bali on November 15 and 16, 2022.

According to him, BSSN performed cyber security to support the smooth running G20 Summit since July 2022.

“(cyber) threats include the following: Phishing (specific hacking), malicious documents or viruses affixed to the documents, diversion, fake wifi to malicious operations,” Ariandi said, quoted in a press release posted on the Cabinet Secretariat website on Thursday (10/27/2022).

In addition, BSSN also monitors potential threats Data theft from before the implementation of the summit until the end of the Indonesian presidency of the G20.

Next, Ariandi explained, the BSSN is specifically responsible for planning several cybersecurity measures with relevant stakeholders. These include the TNI, Polri, the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the Ministry of Health, the Cabinet Secretariat and a number of other parts.

“We are also working with internet network organizers and event organizers who are in charge of this G20 performance. It has been done since last July,” he said.

Ariandi revealed that there were three cluster supports for cybersecurity, namely before, during and after the event.

The goal is to maximize the cybersecurity situation during a series of conferences.

Prior to the event, Ariandi said, his party had audited the information management system, measuring the level of cyber securityas well as follow-up traffic anomaly and potential cyber threats.

“At the time of the event we will do surveillance” traffic anomalymonitoring incident information, securing signals and counter-detection, as well as conducting digital forensics,” he said.

After the event, BSSN will identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and potential data disclosure threats, as well as conduct digital forensics and incident response.

“These are the steps we are taking to ensure that the G20 summit can take place properly,” Ariandi said.

Therefore, Ariandi ensures that the Indonesian government guarantees cybersecurity during the G20 summit.

As we know, the G20 forum is a cooperation forum for 20 major world economies.

The international summit forum to be held on November 15-16, 2022 will focus on policies in the areas of economy and development, including in poor and small countries.

The composition of G20 member countries includes 80% of world GDP, 75% of world exports and 60% of world population.

The members of the G20 are made up of 19 countries and 1 region, namely: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, People’s Republic of China or China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia , Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and European Union.
