Thousands of people involved in the Riau Islands of Porprov are protected by BPJS Emploi – ANTARA News Riau Islands

Batam (ANTARA) – About four thousand people involved in the 5th Riau (Kepri) Islands Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in Bintan are protected by the BPJS employment program.

“The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) is working with BPJS Employment to ensure the protection of athletes, coaches, officials as well as the organizing committee. There are about four thousand of them,” said KONI Deputy Secretary General Kepri Amri when contacted in Batam on Friday (4/11).

According to him, the provision of a protection program from BPJS Employment to everyone involved in the activity is very necessary, especially for athletes as it is helpful in providing protection during competitions in Porprov.

“If there is an injury or something else that is not wanted, it can be protected by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan,” Amri said.

With the provision of a protection program from BPJS Employment, Amri hopes that the committee, athletes and officials can make the event a success.

“This is the 5th Porprov, we hope it is much better than before and runs smoothly or works successfully. For this reason, we hope everyone involved in this event, as well as the community and the host, will support each other for the success of this event,” he said.

Amri added that this event will be opened on November 10, 2022. However, before the opening ceremony, there were already several sports whose matches started earlier due to time constraints and limited space.

“For example, futsal started on the 1st yesterday, because the site of the futsal match will also be used by volleyball, so it will start early. After that, the first sports took place, such as basketball, billiards, sepak takraw, football and bicycle racing. After the opening, there will be many sports competing against each other,” he said.

For the province of Riau Islands V the province of Bintan itself, 25 sports will be in competition, which will be followed by 2,302 athletes and officials from each regency/city.
