Spanish Crushing 7-0 win over Costa Rica in Group E World Cup 2022 at Al Thumama Stadium, Doha on Wednesday (23/11).
Spain is convincing from the first minute of the game. A number of opportunities have been secured by the La Furia side from Dani Olmo and Marco Asensio.
Spain, who continued to press, then opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Dani Olmo’s deft move ended with a slow move that burst into Keylor Navas’ goal.
Spain feel more comfortable after their 1-0 victory. As a result, La Furia Roja were able to increase the lead to 2-0 in the 21st minute.
The measurable bait Jordi Alba sent into the penalty area was met with Marco Asensio’s shot which Navas couldn’t contain.
Costa Rica sinks even more in the 31st minute. This was after Spain scored the third goal through a Ferran Torres penalty.
The penalty was given by the referee after Spanish left-back Jordi Alba was breached by Oscar Duarte in the 16th box.
Spain widen the lead to 4-0 in the 54th minute. Torres’ hard work ended with a left-left shot against Navas’ goal.
Costa Rica could never recover after leading 0-4. It was precisely their goal that was smashed again by Spain via Gavi in the 75th minute.
Spain are not satisfied even though they are already leading 5-0. Luis Enrique’s team could add two more goals thanks to Carlos Soler in the 90th minute and Alvaro Morata (90+3′).
The 7-0 win put Spain top of Group E for the 2022 World Cup. Spain edged out Japan, who had previously won 2-1 over Germany.
