Makassar (ANTARA) – The Chancellor of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Ir Jamaluddin Jompa MSc and Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste, HE Nadia Burger discussed opportunities for expanding partnerships, especially in the education sector.

explained, Unhas as a higher education institution continues to make new inroads and expand partnerships with many parties.
According to him, in the future, collaborative efforts are needed between Unhas and Canada in the development of the tridarma of higher education. In addition, Canada is one of Indonesia’s best partners in various fields.
“We are very happy to welcome Ms. Nadia to Unhas. As a higher education institution, Unhas wants to achieve many things through partnerships with different countries. Canada is a potential country in science and technology,” he said.
He said that as an institution of higher learning, Unhas is committed to continuous quality improvement and has been the spirit of the university since its founding in 1956.
As the largest PTN with various achievements not only in East Indonesia, various strategic steps continue to be optimized, one of which is expanding partnerships with various parties.
“In the future, we need cooperation with Canada, and we hope that the government can offer Unhas opportunities to establish partnerships,” continued Professor JJ.
Furthermore, Prof. JJ added that Unhas has a strategic role in supporting the strategic steps of the government including the establishment of IKN (National Capital City) in Kalimantan. Where, Unhas, which is located in eastern Indonesia, will play an important role in the development of IKN.
Professor JJ hopes that the Canadian government can provide opportunities for collaboration through scholarships for Unhas scholars.
“We will continue to lead internationalization efforts by expanding partnerships with various parties. Until now, Unhas continues to make best efforts to be present in the community according to its capabilities. At Unhas, we also have many Canadian graduates, we hope Ms. Nadia can help Unhas expand its network of partners in Canada,” he explained.
In response to this, Nadia expressed her gratitude for the various achievements that Unhas had made as a higher education institution. He also gave many explanations on the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Canada, particularly in the field of education.
