2022 World Cup results, standings and top scores: Ronaldo scores a goal

Four matches from two different groups add up to the full standings game day first World Cup 2022. The list of top scorers has also grown with the presence of a new type of scorer Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the first match, which took place on Thursday (24/11), Switzerland won 1-0 against Cameroon thanks to a goal scored by Breel Embolo.

Also, the Uruguay vs South Korea match ended without a winner. La Celeste and Taegeuk Warriors had to settle for a point in their first game at the 2022 World Cup.

Uruguay and South Korea’s rivals Portugal and Ghana played later. Portugal won 3-2 over Ghana. Ronaldo opened the victory for Portugal. Moreover, the two teams produced four goals alternately.

Andre Ayew had equalized before Joao Felix and Rafael Leao put Portugal back in front. Towards the end of regulation time, Osman Bukari tightened the score again and lasted until the fight broke up.

The closing of the series of matches on Thursday (24/11) was the Brazil-Serbia duel. Richarlison’s two goals earned the Samba side three points. Richarlison’s second goal was special because it was beautifully created.

Thanks to these victories, Brazil and Portugal are at the top of their respective group standings. Brazil are ahead on goal difference from Switzerland, while Portugal are two points clear of South Korea and Uruguay.
