A bus carrying passengers crashes on a highway in Canada. More than 50 people were hospitalized following the accident.
Reported by AFP, Monday (26/12/2022) The accident happened on Saturday (24/12) in the evening local time. The cause of the accident on the highway about 330 kilometers (200 miles) east of Vancouver in an area of British Columbia that has been beset by bad winter weather was not immediately known. .
British Columbia Premier David Eby said he was “shocked and saddened” by the news.
“Our hearts go out to those affected by the accident, their loved ones, first responders and health workers who are giving everything to treat people and keep them safe,” he said in a statement.
Regional health authority Interior Health tweeted 53 patients being treated at three hospitals but could not provide details on the patient’s condition. Parts of the highway affected by the accident were closed until Sunday morning, the provincial transportation authority said via Twitter.
