Transfer News: Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United are all reportedly interested in trying to sign Lille striker Jonathan David.
A report of Files claim that Arsenal and Manchester United are planning to make concrete offers for the Canadian ahead of the January transfer window.
Jonathan David is certainly one of the most promising strikers in Ligue 1 and he has done a great job since joining Lille in 2020. The striker has nine goals and three assists in just 15 league appearances this season and he could become a quality signing for both English clubs.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo say Newcastle United are also interested in David and it remains to be seen whether they can fend off competition from the two Premier League giants and sign the 22-year-old striker.
David is still young and will improve with practice and experience. The Lille striker has the potential to become a top scorer.
Arsenal can take advantage of David’s liveliness, especially following the injury to Gabriel Jesus. the gunners are in the hunt for the title and they need to improve their squad to stay ahead of rivals like Manchester City and Newcastle.
On the other hand, Manchester United needed David to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract was terminated ahead of the World Cup. They previously identified Cody Gakpo but the PSV striker would prefer a move to Liverpool.
