Sidiq said the award was won for the second time based on an assessment by the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, where the special terminal for Pupuk Kaltim was found to have met all the criteria. green port on management aspects, technical aspects such as ports, K3 environmental and energy aspects, as well as digitization aspects with an achievement of 80.97%.

He said he was the first company in Indonesia to win Green Port Award in 2019, Pupuk Kaltim continues to be committed to improving environmentally friendly port governance which refers to Guidelines for Green Ports and Assessment tools. This standard has been a guideline for Pupuk Kaltim since 2018, as it concerns export activities that require the company’s ports to have standards green harbor which is internationally recognized.

One of them is the implementation of healthy ports according to the regulation number 44 of the Minister of Health of 2014.

“Similarly, in the future, Pupuk Kaltim will continue to assess and improve services in the company’s port area, so that compliance with green and smart port criteria can be more optimal,” said Sidiq. .

Several novelties green and smart ports Pupuk Kaltim’s implementations so far include the use of electric cranes, the replacement of conventional lighting with LEDs, carrying out emissions tests for port operational vehicles and the presence of live plants in the ‘working environment.

“That is why Pupuk Kaltim conducted an assessment to further gauge the level of achievement of the implementation of Green Port in all areas of the company’s Special Terminal,” Sidiq added.

The Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, thanked all the parties who won the award Green Port Award this year, and encourage other Indonesian ports to gradually meet the criteria of green ports. It is also hoped that this will further motivate all stakeholders to cooperate more intensely, in order to make Indonesia a world-class sustainable port.

According to Luhut, the implementation of green and smart ports is expected to increase the added value of ports in Indonesia, as it plays an important role as a maritime country. Moreover, Indonesia is currently the only country in Southeast Asia to be in the top 20 countries with good port performance, based on the median container ship waiting time reaching 24.9 hours. . “Currently, we have completed the assessment process for 10 ports, and in the future, 149 ports will be encouraged to meet Green Port and Smart Port standards, so that Indonesian ports can compete internationally,” said said Luhut.
