Jimin BTS releases Solo Face album in English and Korean

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Jimin BTS has officially released the solo album Face in both English and Korean versions. The lead single Like Crazy was released via YouTube Hybe Labels on Friday (3/24/2023) at 1:00 p.m. KST or 11:00 a.m. WIB.

The song is a synth-pop genre combining synth and drum sounds accompanied by a sad timbre.

Besides Like Crazy, the album Face released by Jimin BTS contains several other hit songs, namely Face off, Interlude: Dive, Alone and Set Me Free Pt. 2.

Quoted by Yonhap, Jimin’s agency BigHit Music explained that this album was a collaboration with other musicians, such as Pdogg, Supreme Boi, GHSTLOOP, EVAN, BLVSH, Chris James and his own best friend RM BTS.

BigHit Music explained that the album Face is a representation of Jimin and himself while preparing for a solo album.

Unfortunately, the song from the Face-off music video that was submitted to KBS TV was deemed unsuitable for airing on local Korean TV. The reason is that the song contains profanity, slang and lewd expressions. There has been no further confirmation about this song.

However, the song Set Me Free Pt.2, which also features on the Face album, has topped the iTunes charts in 110 countries since its launch last week.

“The song was ranked number one on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 110 countries, including England, Canada, Italy and Finland,” Big Hit Music wrote in its official release. Free me pt. 2 was released last Friday (3/17/2023).

Jimin is the fourth BTS member to release a solo album after J-Hope, Jin, and RM. Even though this is a solo album project, all BTS members are still supporting and even helping.

The man whose real name is Park Ji Min joined BTS in 2013. Jimin had sung solo for the BTS album titled Lie and Serendipity. He also sang songs for the soundtrack of Korean drama Our Blues and wrote the lyrics for Promise.

Before releasing this Face solo album, Jimin BTS also dueted with BigBang’s Taeyang in a song titled Vibe.
