Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Tiktok seems to be one of the less fortunate social media. In Canada, Tiktok is officially blocked as it is considered a violation of user privacy.

Canada is concerned about the Chinese government’s involvement with TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance. Sources said the Canadian government accused Tiktok of having dangerous methods of data theft.
Tiktok often shares user data with the Chinese government. It is because of this privacy issue that Tiktok is blocked nationwide.
Canada does not want foreign interference so that cyberspace increasingly threatens its people. The country even claims to avoid mortal risks to the national security of its territory.
“As of February 28, 2023, TikTok has been removed from government-issued mobile devices. Users of these devices will also be blocked from downloading the app,” the official statement from the Canadian government reads.
Even though there are accusations like this, Tiktok still denies them. They consider that this ban has no effect on the stability of users in other countries.
Currently, the ban still only applies to Canadian government employees, but it is possible that it will extend to other civil companies.
