TORONTO Ambassador (Ambassador) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) for Canada Daniel Tumpal Simanjuntak wants the Indonesian people of Toronto and surrounding areas to be strong and united.

The government, Daniel said, is ready to provide help and support because diaspora has a great influence in bringing the good reputation of the country in the international world.

“15% of Toronto residents are Asian, so they have a close relationship (with the Indonesian community in Canada),” Daniel said while breaking the fast with the Indonesian Islamic Society of Toronto (MIIT) at the MIIT Center Building in Mississauga. , Ontario, last weekend.

“I have a nostalgia or a desire for our diaspora to strengthen, for the diaspora with Indonesian passports or not, it must be united. Through our various networks and friendships, let us strengthen it policy Indonesia about the diaspora,” continued Daniel.

Specifically at MIIT, the former director of the Asia-Africa region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu), hopes that MIIT can help government programs, especially in the conduct of economic diplomacy. This was also ordered by members of the Indonesian People’s Representative Council (DPR) who recently visited Canada.

“Especially for MIIT, I hope I can inspire the younger generation to keep in touch with Indonesia. Here I leave it, MIIT is the only big bone in Indonesian society, Indonesian diaspora in Toronto. On behalf of the government, I would also like to thank MIIT for facilitating the visit of the DPR members,” said the 1991 alumni of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the University of Indonesia (UI ).
