Adnan/Nita looked confident to finish the match against Dong Adam/Josephine Wu 22-20 and 21-15 in 38 minutes at Suzhou Olympic Center, Suzhou, China on Monday (5/15/2023) morning WIB.
Adnan/Nita started the match well by winning the first number and leading 6-2. However, the Canadian pair managed to redeem an 8-8 scoreline and turned around winning 11-10 at the break in the opener.
After the break, Adnan/Nita struggled to develop their game and trailed Adam/Wu at 11-14, and closed at 15-16.
Adnan/Nita’s struggles paid off. PBSI pair Pelatnas tied 19-19 and then won the opener with a 22-20 win.
Coming into the second match, Adnan/Nita played better. They stepped on the gas and won 6-1. The 54th-ranked pair in the world dominated the game and held their lead until 9-4, then closed the interval in game two with 11-6.
After the break, Adnan/Nita became more aggressive unleashing a number of hard shots to extend the lead to 16-9 and clinched victory in game two with the score at 21-15.
With these results, Indonesia temporarily won 1-0 over Canada. In addition, the second match opposed the mainstay of the men’s singles of the Garuda team, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting to Brian Yang.
