While participating in the event, Minister of Commerce Zulkifli Hasan was invited to accompany Justin Trudeau since his arrival in Jakarta.
The politician, known as Zulhas, seemed warm to Trudeau. He also accompanied Trudeau during his speech on several stages of cooperation with ASEAN.
“I accompanied Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in his speech and then took him home,” Zulhas said after dropping Justin Trudeau off at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, Banten, Wednesday (6/ 9).
Zulhas said he previously accompanied President Joko Widodo to a bilateral meeting with Trudeau. He said that during the meeting, Trudeau was also accompanied by Canadian International Trade Minister Mary Ng.
During the meeting, said the PAN General Chairman, a number of collaborations between Indonesia and Canada were discussed, including the completion of ICA-CEPA next year and support for export of various products.
Zulhas added that Canada truly supports cooperation in the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific region so that economic growth is stable. Apart from that, this activity also addressed digitalization and green economy.
